Advent From a Hospital Room Revisited

Two years ago tonight, I posted a blog entry from the bedside of my dying mother. She died two days later. I’m reposting it because it is certainly germane to Advent and of caring. Last weekend, a local pastor was seriously injured in a highway accident and is still in the hospital. This happened a few hours after I heard him preach and minister to his congregation. I hope his congregation offers him the same care and concern he gives them.

If you are a Christian, whether or not you believe in or observe Advent, Christmas is not a time for lavish giving, but for reminiscing on the greatest gift ever given to mankind.

I hope this reposted article adds a new dimension to your understanding of Advent. Click here (dead link) to be taken directly to the article in the archive on ADN.COM.
